Sorry bout that everyone, I’m really not sure how the Nowhere Boy caps gallery got password protected, but it’s now unpassworded. 🙂
Exciting news! It’s official, there will be a Kick-Ass sequel
It was inevitable that Matthew Vaughn’s big-screen version of the John Romita Jr. and Mark Millar comic “Kick-Ass” would get the green light for a sequel. Today it’s been confirmed apparently by Millar himself on a radio station in the UK who claimed that due to the wonderful DVD sales the sequel is a go.
It’s not really a surprise when you think about it. Sure, it didn’t perform incredibly well like people thought it would in the box office, but it seemed destined to be one of those comic book flicks that would find it’s audience on home video. Since this is all up and running, now it’s a matter of the studio bringing back Vaughn and the cast to the new project.
At the moment Matthew Vaughn is in the middle of filming “X-Men: First Class” for 20th Century Fox which acts as a ’60s set prequel, out in theaters on June 3rd, 2011. “Kick-Ass” star Aaron Johnson will be appearing next in Sam Taylor-Wood directed film “Nowhere Boy”. Chloe Moretz is in the middle of filming her role in Martin Scorsese’s “Hugo Cabret” and will be seen in Matt Reeves’ “Let Me In” this October 8th.
I bring you screencaptures of Aaron’s projects Kick Ass, Nowhere Boy (with huge thanks to Siobhan for capping it for us!) and his small role in The Apocalypse from back in 2002. He was adorable and though it’s only a few captures he did a good job.
Hello everyone, I’m Holly and I’m the new owner of the site. I’ve done some minor changes to the pages and put a new layout up. As you can see, the site is now named Simply Aaron Johnson, the layout was done by Nicole and coded by Mel.
I have a ton of things to add to the gallery, which will be going down for maintance sometime later on this evening at 2 or 3 am pacific time, while I update the script and add new editions. I’m thrilled to be running this site now and look forward to making this your number one source for Aaron again!
Aaron attended the Empire Film Awards in London last Sunday and took home the “Best Newcomer” Award for his role as John Lennon in “Nowhere Boy”, Congrats!
A new press junket interview Aaron did for Kick-Ass has surfaced. Watch it below and caps will be added shortly. Enjoy!
Aaron talks about how things were on the set of Kick-Ass in a new interview.
Aaron Johnson has revealed he had to endure hours of filming in a sweaty jock strap for Kick Ass.
The 19-year-old Nowhere Boy star – who is engaged to Sam Taylor Wood – plays a normal high school kid who decides to re-style himself as an amateur superhero, complete with green wetsuit, in Matthew Vaughn’s action comedy.
Aaron revealed: “It gets pretty sweaty at times if you’re fighting constantly and I had to wear a jockstrap, so it was uncomfortable, but you get used to it.”
He added: “I was in the costume probably every day for about 12 and a half hours a day, for three months. Only two toilet breaks a day. It was enjoyable, but it was mad.”
